Though New York’s architects have long been unionized in the public sector and academia, it was not until 2022 that an architecture firm unionized. In this panel discussion, you will hear about the process of unionization from architects in unionized firms, in management and non-management positions, as well as representatives from labor groups. Together, they will discuss what it would entail for architects employed at firms to join unions and for managers to recognize the unions of their workers. This discussion is intended to promote the solidarity of all architects, regardless of their place of work or seniority within a firm.
