As part of the Center for Architecture’s newly launched digital exhibitions, we will be holding lectures with curators and other team members from past Center for Architecture exhibitions.
Our first lecturer in the series is Sekou Cooke, curator and designer for 2018’s Close to the Edge: The Birth of Hip Hop Architecture. Close to the Edge introduced audiences to Hip-Hop Architecture, a contemporary movement that produces spaces, buildings, and environments that embody the creative energy evident in hip-hop culture.
Cooke will discuss the design and installation of the show as well as its theoretical underpinnings.
