To celebrate Black History Month, the AIANY Women in Architecture Committee will have an abbreviated committee meeting from 6:30-7:00 pm, which will then transition to a virtual design presentation by Nicole Hollant-Denis, AIA, NOMA, NCARB, on the African Burial Ground National Monument in Lower Manhattan.
Architect and designer Nicole Hollant-Denis has a reputation for creating distinctive living and environmental spaces. The founder and principal of Aaris Design Architects in New York City, Hollant-Denis’s 25+ year career in architecture and design has ranged from aviation design and cultural heritage memorials to permanent hurricane- and earthquake-safe housing in Haiti. Hollant-Denis and her design team are proud winners of the NOMA Design Excellence Honor Award for the African Burial Ground National Monument in downtown Manhattan. Hollant-Denis studied architecture at Cornell University and the Harvard Graduate School of Design and lives with her husband and two daughters in New York.
