Join us for a lively discussion on New York’s underground art world as featured in the recently published Contemporary Art Underground: MTA Arts & Design New York (Monacelli, 2024). The book’s co-authors, Sandra Bloodworth and Cheryl Hageman, will discuss some of MTA Arts & Design’s more than 400 permanent artworks commissioned for the transportation system, and offer a behind-the-scenes look at fabrication and installation. Following the authors’ presentation, Linda Tonn and Eve Michel will join the conversation to explore the synergy between art and architecture and how that partnership enriches the public realm.
