What is the difference between sculpture and architecture? Can architects practice at the intersection of architecture and sculpture? Can architects be sculptors?
These and other related questions will be illuminated by panelists from three NYC-based practices in the context of the unique architecture fields within the Omi International Arts Center near Hudson, New York. Out of the 300-acre campus, 60 acres have been allocated for Architecture Omi to explore the intersection of architecture, art, and landscape.
The increased blurring between the two fields of architecture and sculpture — facilitated at times by technology and materials on the one hand, and the ever-expanding constellation of architectural venues on the other — requires this status report.
