This Archtober, share your firm’s New York City-based works with architecture enthusiasts! Archtober is accepting nominations for projects to be included in the festival’s Building of the Day series. Each day in October 2016, Archtober will feature a building as a noon-time, architect-led tour. In addition to publication in the Archtober print guide and website, the tour will be featured on the Archtober blog and as a podcast on cultureNOW’s app, Museum Without Walls.
Building of the Day tours are the centerpiece of Archtober. With the goal of making the exemplary work of architects more accessible to the general public, the tours generate international publicity, and provide a platform for engagement in important issues surrounding New York City’s built environment.
Previous Buildings of the Day have included the Donald Judd Home and Studio (Architecture Research Office and Walter B. Melvin Architects); the World Trade Center Transportation Hub (Downtown Design Partnership: STV, AECOM, and Santiago Calatrava), Sunset Park Material Recovery Facility (Selldorf Architects), Barclays Center (SHoP Architects), 40 Bond (Herzog & de Meuron), and Brooklyn Bridge Park (Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates).
Please complete the submission form and send one photo with credit. We encourage projects located in all five boroughs. They should be nominated by the architect, who is responsible for clearing the copyrights of the images submitted.
Please email submissions to archtober@aiany.org with the subject line “Building of the Day Submission.”
