School Visits

The Center for Architecture is free and open to the public. School groups are welcome to visit for a self-guided tour of our exhibitions at no charge but must be scheduled in advance.

Visit our exhibitions page to learn more about what is on view. If you are interested in scheduling a self-guided visit, email info@aiany.org with your group size and preferred date and time.

The galleries will be closed from April 6, 2025, through May 7, 2025, for the upcoming exhibition installation.

Workshops at the Center for Architecture

The Center for Architecture can host a limited number of fee based, 2-hour hands-on workshops during the school year. Workshops are designed to introduce students to architectural vocabulary, model building skills, and design thinking concepts.

Bring the Center for Architecture to Your School

The Center for Architecture can partner with your school to lead a Learning By Design:NY residency program. Programs can be customized to enrich and extend existing classroom studies and address core subject standards. All residencies consist of a series of 90-minute classroom workshops. Activities include hands-on art and design projects, scale model building, engineering challenges, and neighborhood walks.
