Impacting the silhouette of cities, as well as interior spaces around the world, no other architectural element can claim as wide a range of expression and use as concrete. As “batter for the architect,” the plasticity, strength, and sensual qualities of this element are virtually endless. The panelists will explore uses of concrete as structure, cladding, pavement, interior surface, and an all-around shape-shifter that has given way to economic and cultural transformations at varying scales.
